Debate is world’s new changing

Life is the way of living things can exist in the world, and try to fight which any kind of obstacle seeing that living in the world we all always face bad or good things. Some problems is too hard for us to find the solution to restore or to amputate it , so it demands all the people upgrade themselves by taking that problem into discussion by the mean of learning what is right and wrong, what is logical and illogical. So on January 03, 2012 it is the first time ever in my life that I spend 8 day of studying debate at Department of Media and Communication (DMC). Debate session is the fantastic and unforgettable lesson that I experience in my life due to the fact that at that session I cannot only know what debate but also learn more special skills in debate. During debating, we need to think deeply and thoroughly about C-R-E, which is mean Claim, Reason, and Evident. These are the most important elements of the good and expert debater cannot avoid during debating. Moreover, C-E-V are absolutely related to  the reason seeing that to convince or to get the trust from people unless what we raise is logical, relevant and completed— three of these are the sub-element of Reason (R). In contrast, having reason is better, it still not effect to feeling or trust of people. Thus, what is the best way for the debater to get fully trust from people? In this element, Evident is playing key part in supporting the reasons which are raised by giving the example, statistic, study or research, and the fact. Completing with these important elements can make the debater win half of the debated fighting and get the trust from listeners, but all of these are just the strategies to win listener’s mind and get the trust; it does not mean that debater can win the debated fighting. To win the debate, it need to be thought of the effective speaking of the debater, including body language such as eyes contact, gesture, intonation, language usage and so on. By the way because debate is the event of fighting by using word that get out of the idea on specific topic that’s why we can take what appear in the theory that we have discussed to practice in the real life. As one slogan of Karl Popper— “You may be right and I may be wrong but with an effort, together we may get nearer the truth”.
